Former Twitter executives Parag Agrawal and Vijaya Gadde, along with others, file lawsuit against Elon Musk
Elon Musk, the owner of X, is facing a lawsuit from four former Twitter executives for allegedly failing to pay $128 million in severance payments and other grievances. The executives, including Twitter’s former CEO and CFO, claim they were unjustly fired without cause. The lawsuit also addresses Musk’s involvement in the rebranding of Twitter to X. Musk is being sued by former executives
According to the AP report, the reason for the lawsuit is that they were terminated without explanation on the day in 2022 when Musk finalized the purchase of Twitter. It is also said that Musk did not want to pay the executives a severance package that included one year’s salary plus unused stock awards at Twitter’s acquisition price. Therefore, it is argued that Agrawal should retain his $57 million severance package, Segal’s $44 million, Gadde’s $20 million and Edgett’s $6 million.
The executive said that Musk “made up a fake excuse and appointed employees of his various companies to stick to his decision.” The lawsuit also states, “Under Musk’s control, Twitter has become a laughingstock that stiffs employees, landlords, vendors and others. Musk doesn’t pay his bills, believes the rules don’t apply to him, and uses his wealth and power to crack down on anyone who disagrees with him.” However, Musk’s representatives did not react or comment on any of the allegations.
The lawsuit also alleges that X is currently facing several lawsuits over unpaid bills: “Musk’s approach to these mounting lawsuits has reportedly been to allow them to sue, in line with the more aggressive attitude he has shown toward his financial obligations.” Now people have been waiting for Musk to comment on the claims and the lawsuit.
